'Black Panther' loses and Twitter has questions

The 2019 Golden Globes telecast took place on Sunday night (January 6), and while the event saw some unlikely nominees sweep most of the major categories, the expected frontrunner for a few of those, Black Panther, was left in the dust — and Twitter is fuming.

The historic movie, which stands as the third highest-grossing film of all time and the first Marvel movie to be nominated for three Golden Globes, lost in each category.

While the wins for Best Song and Best Original Score went to A Star Is Born's "Shallow" and First Man, respectively, it was the biggest award of the night, and arguably the most deserved of the superhero film, Best Picture – Drama, that saw viewers gasp in shock.

The coveted award, which went to the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, was the final straw for Black Panther fans as it confirmed that the highly celebrated film was completely shut out during the ceremony.
